In graduate school, a visiting artist once told me to write down a list of 100 ideas. 

At that time, I made the kind of work that had far too many concepts and intentions to fit into a single work. By writing them down,  I could mine this personal stockpile of inspiration. But more importantly, I also had a place for all my really bad ideas to be remembered. Avoiding, hopefully, being made impulsively under the temporary adrenaline rush of a new idea.  

In my practice, making things (even if it is just making a list of ideas) has only generated more ideas and more artwork. 100 ideas is just the start.
